Sooo...should anyone else experience a rodent related power adapter fatality, I'm happy to share the results from my frantic search for a replacement. Manufacturer's replacement prices were through the roof! After much searching I found 12vadapters.com and the price was totally in my range. I suppose this is a rare problem, but there you go.
